Motivational letter

Question

In my class, 19 students will be selected to participate in an exchange with a school in Italy. This exchange will last one week.
Because a lot more students have applied to participate, we have to write a motivation letter about why we want to go there.

I have been thinking about it a lot, and I want to go to Italy because:
- I have never been there
- I really want to get to know the Italian culture
- I think it is a great thing to experience.
- I've always wanted to go to Venice.

Can you please help writing the letter?

P.s. I am a 12-year old girl from the Netherlands, and I have a bilingual education.

What you have written so far is good, but I think you need to make it more specific on some parts:

What is it about the Italian culture that you really want to get to know? Art? Roman empire? Music? Cuisine? Fashion? Religion? There are lots of possibilities...
Why have you always wanted to go to Venice? Again, try to think of some specific reasons... Carnival? Opera? Car-free environment? Architecture?
Do as much as you can to show them that you have a real interest in the country.
