Statement of motivation

Dear Sir / Madam,

I am applying to your bachelor program of “Economics and Business” starting in September 2012. My career ambition is to work at the finance department of a multinational company in my home country, Turkey, after having specialized in Economics and Finance at the University of Amsterdam.

Currently I am studying at The Hague University of Applied Sciences, following the program of International Business and Management Studies (IBMS), which is taught in English. My top three scores are for the subjects; Statistics, International Financial Accounting (IFA) and Organizational Behavioral Management (OBM). Before applying to The Hague University, I graduated at a program named “International Wholesale” (Internationaal Groothandel, niveau 4) at Middelbaar Beroepsonderwijs (MBO) level. Moreover, during these three years at the program I have had internships in Istanbul (Turkey) and Manchester (England).

I really enjoy working in a multicultural environment and get to know new cultures from all around the world. After having received my propedeuse certificate at The Hague University, I decided to take the chance and to look for a bachelor program which is more challenging. I came across the course catalogue of “Economics and Business” and I found that I am familiar with all of the subjects provided in the first year at the program. Moreover, the subjects provided in the first year, together with the multicultural environment, will improve my knowledge and take me to the next level in pursuing my professional goal. Therefore, I am confident that the University of Amsterdam is the right university to improve my knowledge and skills.

To conclude, I experience that being international orientated is a huge advantage nowadays and I just can’t wait to start with the bachelor program of “Economics and Business” at the University of Amsterdam because of my enthusiasm and motivation.
