Motivation letter (University exchange to Japan)

Hello ~ !
I'm from France.
Could you please correct my motivation letter for my application to my university exchange student program? I'd be really thankful !! Emotion: smile
(By the way, this is not exactly a letter. I was just asked to show my motivation in a kind of short essay/text.)

Well, here it is :
____

Studying one year in a Japanese university has been one of my most important goals since I graduated from high school. I have tried my best to get good results and found a part-time job to finance my project. Therefore it is with a lot of enthusiasm and motivation that I am submitting an application to our university exchange student program.

To begin with, an academic exchange would allow me to improve my Japanese language skills on several aspects. I believe that talking with native speakers on a regular basis, and being « surrounded » by a foreign language is something necessary to be able to master it. Though I am aware that there is still a long way to go until I can reach such a good level in Japanese, I am highly motivated and being an exchange student in Japan would definitely be a big step towards this aim.
Deeply fascinated by Japanese society, I'm not only interested in its language, but also from a cultural point of view. Thus, I really want to fully experience this culture, so that I could understand it better. I have started to learn Japanese by myself during my last middle school year, and then I moved to the XXXX High school dormitory in order to study it. This first experience living apart from my family has helped me to become more self-reliant and strengthened my desire to pursue my studies. Spending a year in Japan, would be a unique opportunity to see with my own eyes many things I have been reading and taught about all along these years.
Apart from being a great way to get immersed in the culture, the traditions and the language, being part of an exchange student program is a significant advantage on any CV. After completing my degree, I intend to continue my studies in the foreign relations field. All these benefits would be very helpful regarding my future career goals.
To finish with, I would be honored to represent XXX University in Japan. There are countless things to learn about Japanese culture, but I also have so much to share about my own. I am convinced that a year abroad is a rewarding experience that will broaden my view on the world and enhance my personal development.

These are the main reasons why I am applying to our university exchange student program. I hope that you would be willing to give me the great opportunity to study in one of our partner university in Japan.

I thank you in advance for your time and consideration.

Thank you Emotion: smile.
