Dear Sir/Madame,
I’m writing to express my interest in applying for the “Summer Students 2017” project at CERN , which I truly believe will expand my knowledge in aspects of physics, especially particle and high energy physics, which will be a key for my future goals as a researcher .
Therefore, I would be captivated to grasp an inside look at the most evolved research Centre in Europe CERN, since it is a place with largest and the most complex scientific instruments to study the basic constituents of matter, the fundamental particles. This programme is a once-in-a-lifetime and valuable chance for me to enrich my physical background. Moreover, by the guidance of leading experts, we will learn how accelerators and detectors works and their measurement´s usefulness. Furthermore, collaborating with highly motivated people, give me expertise for scientific interest towards.
In addition, be a member of CERN´s summer school, will give me the key to answer all of my fundamental questions about the creation of universe and particles. I´m sure that, the curriculum of the summer school, will broaden my horizons and learn more about super symmetry and standard model theory. I believe that, a summer school in this place, where have been the largest discoveries of the century, will give me the opportunity, to learn more about the latest discoveries and the news in science.
Moreover, I´m confident that attending this program, will give me the opportunity to share my experience with other young people of my country, in order to inspire them to appreciate scientific endeavor. Motivating other people that science is as important as useful for our universe, and then our future will be better. Furthermore, be a summer school member, will give me the chance to develop relationships with other students and scientists internationally.
During my bachelor studies in Physics, I have completed a variety of courses, which gain me thorough knowledge in different aspects, like computational, mathematical and experimental physics. I have completed “Particle Physics” course, where we learned about elementary particles, standard model, grand unifying theories and super symmetry particles. In addition, as a part of this course, we learned how detectors and collider works, which has intrigued me to learn further about Large Hadron Collider(LHC). Furthermore, as a part of Computational Methods of Physics II course, I have do a project where we have to simulated the process of Higg´s boson discovery, by created data with Pythia event generation, filtered data with C++ programme and make graphs using ROOT. In junior years, I attended courses like Quantum Mechanics I, II and Special Relativity, which has expand my mathematical background further. I took advanced course in “General Relativity and Cosmology”, where I have the opportunity to work in four dimensions, and it was absorbing.
I’m confident that I will have your positive response for my application .My willingness learning in combination with my hardworking spirit and the motivation to answer sorts of questions about the universe, will make me capable to be selected as a member of Summer school 2017.
