Can someone help me with this motivation letter that I need to write for an internship in New York
Dear Sir or Madam,
I would like to express my interest in an internship at the ... in New York as an exchange student. In the following letter I will introduce myself and explain why it is my dream to discover the world and go on an internship.
My name is ... and I’m currently studying at the .... I have always lived in Belgium, but exploring the world has been always part of my plans. Except from holidays in other countries, the first time I really went abroad was in 2011 during my Erasmus in Valencia, Spain. I lived there for three months and I had a really great time there. It’s already two years ago and it feels good to go on a new adventure.
I started my Bachelor ... at the ... in 2008 and I specialized myself in HVAC. Many difficulties faced me, but I would overcome all to achieve my dream in studying what I really want, Environmental Science. It’s my way to say that I care about the environment and that I will do a lot to stand up for it.
Going on an internship and do something for the environment is a possibility I wont give up, but there are several other reasons why I have decided to apply for this programme. First of all, I believe this is the best opportunity to deepen my knowledge in a multicultural environment. It will also improve my English and above all, I would broaden my horizon in a city where everything is possible. I’ve always lived in ... It’s just a small town in Belgium and when I began my studies in ..., I thought I went to the big city. My first real big city was Valencia during my Erasmus, which was a whole new experience. After that, I moved to ... to study, which is for me the big city in Belgium. I live there for two years now and New York would be the big city in the world for me.
The internship appears to be the perfect complement to my career. It would enable me to develop a strong background of knowledge from a different view than my current studies, what gives me a significant plus to my career.
