Dear Sir or Madam,

I am interested in pursuing a master’s degree at Jönköping University in Managing in a Global Context major. I am a B.Sc. Business Informatics student at Istanbul Bilgi University with full scholarship and I expect to graduate 1st in class with a perfect GPA at the end of the year.

While completing a comprehensive Undergraduate Program in Business Informatics I have attended great number of courses in Business Administration, Computer Sciences and Information and Communication Technologies as you can see by my official transcript. In these courses we accomplished challenging group projects and I was the team leader with responsibility of building and leading our project teams. The main reason is not only based on my leadership skills but also I assign tasks properly to group members’ skills and make tasks easier to participate with video conferencing and web-based project management tools. As Alan Keith states that, "Leadership is ultimately about creating a way for people to contribute to making something extraordinary happen."

Additionally, one and half year I pursued double major program with International Trade and Business Administration but my financial situation during double major program compels me to work and study at the same time. Hence, I had to leave double major program but attending several courses in International Trade and Business Administration enriches my knowledge about international business environment. After making assessment of your programme’s courses, Managing in a Global Context master’s programme will provide me invaluable opportunity to improve my project management skills and to deepen my knowledge in international business.

During summer 2013, I worked as an intern at KocSistem Information and Communication Services Inc. In 2014, I did a project internship for 6 months in Fibabanka (formerly Credit Europe Bank N.V.) and I contributed development process of an Anti-Money Laundering System. During development and implementation process of the project even as an intern, my suggestions after gathering information from different resources of The Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC), The Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act (FATCA), Sanctions List of European Union etc. were accepted by my managers and we’ve reached increased number of fraud detection. Currently, I have been accepted to long-term internship position of Business Process Management department at Samsung Electronics for 6 months. In my opinion, before graduation having more than one year work experience and involving in various sectors are important assets for my personal development. Especially, opportunity to devote part of the elective semester to an internship has stimulated my interest in this course.

Besides of my school projects and work experience, I’ve set up a project team to develop and design BilgiShare mobile app. as a CSR project for note sharing among Istanbul Bilgi University Students. We presented our prototype to our university’s CFO and IT Committee, they approved and offered us to embed BilgiShare into official Istanbul Bilgi University applications (Bilgi Online, Bilgi Campus) after releasing first version.

Furthermore, with same team we are working on a website and branding project of my families’ local travel agency in Antalya/Turkey. Finding new global name to company (Lotus Travel), designing new logo, managing social media advertisements and building a booking website (www.lotusbooking.com) are within the scope of the project. As a team, our innovative effort still continue for this multi-platform (available on tablets, smartphones and PCs) and multi-language (Turkish, English, Russian, German, Arabic) website to reach a better brand image and increase profit with online ticket sales and cross-sales opportunities. Leading my team in these projects and gathering brilliant feedbacks from environment is a great honor for me and I am sure if I will be accepted in Jönköping University my attempts will continue with a new cross-cultural team in egalitarian and cosmopolite environment of Sweden.
