Dear Sir or Madam,
I am applying for the exchange programme yy. Due to the Erasmus project, I will spend the spring term at xx. In my opinion yy is the most interesting course because of its international perspective and I think that I would benefit from this course a lot.
Since 2009, I have been studying mass media and communication at the University of Vienna. My focus is on journalism and politics. Now, I am almost finished and would like to broaden my educational experience with a semester abroad.
Furthermore I have been working as a journalist at a local Austrian newspaper for two years. I am already responsible for the production if my editor in chief is ill or on holiday. Therefore the practical journalist aspects of the course appeal to me a lot. I also like the combination of practical and theoretical courses the programme offers. I love writing and photography too. In my job in Austria I have been able to practise this a lot. Now I want to improve my skills, especially in English.
In my point of view it is very important to get to know Europe nowadays. People should be able to work in every European country. As for me, I could imagine working as an international reporter.
This is why it would be very interesting for me to study in an international class. I could get to know many new perspectives of journalism and life in general. I am a very open minded and communicative person and would love to learn many new views.
I love travelling and exploring different countries and cultures. Therefore I am also interested in the travel trip to Berlin and the travel project. I visited the Web magazine and came to the conclusion that I would love to help producing it.
I am looking forward to studying at the oldest School in journalism in Europe. yy focuses on advanced students and young journalists. As I am both, I fulfil these requirements pretty well. I personally would benefit from the diversified programme a lot. Therefore I am applying for the exchange programme yy. Thank you very much for considering my request.
