Motivation letter for university

Question

My name is Jennifer and I am hoping on studyin in Utrecht the following year and I need to write a motivation letter. I've tried to write this but i think it's not enough so could you please help me or correct if theres something .

I am writing to apply for a place on the Bachelor of International Communication and Media study program.

Nowadays, we are living in a global society and I am sure that your university is going to help me gain the knowledge which will help me to prosper and develop in the future. As I am also interested in social and political issues, I think that Media studies is the best course for me to follow.

I have wanted to be a journalist since I was 8 years old, when all my friends thought of being princesses or ballerinas. I used to sit up straight and start retelling the news or start interviewing my parents, asking a lot of questions. After 10 years, my mind is still firmly on that topic and I am highly motivated.

I had a 6 month long internship in MD magazine, where I had the opportunity to discover many different concepts of media and how the magazine works.

Nowadays - this is a very casual word. It's not recommended for formal letters.
This paragraph is very weak and unconvincing. Try to be very specific rather than giving vague platitudes such as "we live in a global society."

I had a six-month ~~long~~ internship at MD magazine, where I had the opportunity to discover many different concepts (anything in particular?) of media and how a magazine works.

We are living in a global society in which media is the main source of advertising and communicating. The beginning of human communication dates back to ancient cave paintings, writings and map drawing. It is something that will continue developing until humanity is alive. I have chosen this specialty in order to gain a deeper understanding in this field that runs the world, therefore to be prepared for my future career as a journalist. Journalism is not just about discussing and writing on a problem or a topic. It is for getting your point across, triggering a reaction, penetrating to one’s consciousness and making the reader to experience deeper events that touch him emotionally and give him the opportunity to take part in it. I am sure that your university is going to help me gain the knowledge which will help me to prosper and develop in my future.

For the last five years in high school I became a person, knowing what I want from life and how to achieve it. Therefore I started developing in different fields, also knowing the importance of learning foreign languages, how every tongue is wealth, like a new window to the world. My excellent knowledge in English, Russian and Bulgarian has been many times beneficial for me.
