Motivation letter for PhD

For the few days I've been writing motivation letter. I am not satisfied yet. Please give comments to my letter.

I am writing in response to your notice about the PhD position posted on the xxx. I will complete my Master’s degree this summer and I am very interested in learning more about xxx

My bachelor’s degree in Bioinformatics gave me a basic knowledge about genetics and cell biology, which I have acquired at a good level. Additionally, my continuation of studies at the xxx helped me to increase my awareness of supramolecular chemistry and microbiology. During my studies I have repeatedly worked in group of two to six people. This assured me that I can efficiently and peacefully cooperate with other members of the group. My bachelor’s thesis is about impact of stress on the hippocampus. To investigate this event I performed microarray analysis and in the course of writing it I have discovered a lot of new tools and learned how to work with big datasets. My knowledge of Python programming language helped me in writing scripts that made my work faster and more efficient. I find working with biological data on the computer very interesting and I therefore decided to continue my studies in Bioinformatics. For my master’s thesis I work with next generation sequencing data. I am very keen on learning new laboratory and computational methods and I am very pleased when I get opportunity to learn new facts about mechanisms in cells. Additionally, during my studies and internships I have learned basic laboratory skills, as pipetting, making an electrophoresis gel and cells culturing. Working in laboratory is not a problem for me, because of my scrupulosity and precision. I would also like to mention that I am highly motivated and very willing to learn - therefore I can quickly compensate for any lack of my knowledge.

I have a great interest in the realization of the PhD in your group and would appreciate the chance to broaden my knowledge by working in an international environment. I look forward to hearing from you regarding my application.
