Motivation letter for MS Biotechnology

I am M Tahir Mursleen, born in a small city having alarmingly low literacy rate. It is usually believed that destiny controls the life events. Ups and downs in one’s life are uncontrollable factors to an extent but I have seen examples to believe that, it is the man who is the architect of his own fate. I was born in a lower middle class family, spent my childhood in a comparatively less privileged area. Despite of difficulties, my interest in education made it possible to achieve good grades in school, in college and then in University I won the “GOLD MEDAL” in BSc. (Hons.) Microbiology.

When I was selected in undergraduate program at University of Agriculture, Faisalabad, Pakistan, one of the best university known in the country for its excellent faculty and advanced laboratories, became a perfect platform for me to expose the fundamentals of different fields related to subject of Microbiology and develop a strong and comprehensive background in these fields. Apart from these technical subjects, I was also fascinated by the courses related on extension, Scientific Communication and leadership development etc.

I have worked in all basic fields of Microbiology during my degree. During my graduation, I have completed projects on vaccine production, antibiotic production, and have completed two internships in combined military hospital and Engro Foods Limited respectively.

I want to take MS program in Bioengineering (Biotechnology and Genetics) as I have done my BSc (HONS) Microbiology and currently enrolled in MSc. (HONS.) Microbiology and Molecular Genetics. I have learnt modern Biotechnology approaches like DNA extraction, DNA quantification, PCR, Gel Electrophoresis, bioinformatics along with basic microbiological techniques involving cell cultures.

It would not be too great an exaggeration to say that biotechnology holds the key to all solutions required to get rid of the problems faced by Pakistan and the whole world in the field of treatment and prevention. I would love to have a chance of working in vaccine production using viral based and plasmid based vectors. Nonpathogenic gene delivery system development is an area of immense vaccine production research. Newer analytic techniques as well as more formal quality practices and methodologies are also the major focus today. If given the opportunity I would be able to develop better understanding of innovations and analytical techniques adopted in modern world.

Biotechnology is the field of future that is beneficial to the individual as well as the society. I want to be an element of innovation in this field, which is creating a better tomorrow for everyone. I envision master degree in Biotechnology, bioengineering or molecular biology from Turkey as the right stepping stone to pursue my dreams and achieve my career goals. I will gain in my own knowledge under the supervision of experts from Turkish University. I am optimistic about joining this scholarship opportunity as a master student. It would be a matter of great personal pleasure and glory for me to shape my career through this great educational funding program.
