Motivation Letter for Masters in Intelligent Adaptive Systems
Hello all,
Could you please help me by correcting my motivation letter as this is my first letter I ever written and quite confused about it. Please help me with your correction and suggestion.
Dear Sirs/ Madams,
This letter is in regards to my interest in applying for a Master’s Program in Intelligent Adaptive Systems, starting in winter semester, 2013. I have graduated in year 2010, from the University of X, and hold a Bachelors degree in Business Information Technology.
In this competitive world, if anyone truly wants to be a professional, it is very much necessary to prepare him/her-self acquiring quality knowledge rather than just having a degree. And this quality knowledge always comes through research and practical work in guidance of true contributors of this ground whose are actually the most experienced and dedicated professors of the good Universities. Since anybody think of doing higher study in their genuine field of interest, they usually starts with searching a specialized university where he/she will have a life time opportunity to find out all answers of his curiosities since started to know about that particular field beside textbook lesson. And to do this possible, the only answer would be the University who encourages practical and research based education. Undoubtedly, University of Y is in top among those types of universities who always encourages practical research as form of acquiring knowledge.
University of Hamburg is about a 94 years old worldwide renowned research university specialized in science and technology. It is one of the biggest universities of Germany with about 40,000 students. And every year around 3,500 students completes their graduation and 900 receive their doctoral degrees. This is the inspiring numbers for any student dreaming to have higher degree. Not only that University of Hamburg is a place of opportunity for students as it offers about 120 different major to choose from 6 faculties which includes Science (Mathematics, Informatics, and Neural Science), Law, Medicine etc. This University has kept its consistent level of excellence in delivering knowledge in several sectors for ages. For this tremendous contribution and dedication since birth, this university has offered many scholars in the past and they have made their identity on their own ground, among them there were 6 Nobel winners who have contributed a lot to the world from their ground. This reputation of excellence is continuing even today as it is visibly well in the list of world ranked universities. These information will simply make a student to start respecting and loving this university and if anyone got chance to have a student life here will be simply a lifetime achievement for him/her. So, Undoubtedly, It would my achievement after graduation if I have admission to this university.
Intelligent (Adaptive) Systems are not just a toy in a child hand or not even a device in person’s hand what just work intelligently. This system has changed its definition and broken the boundary of imaginations; it became an inseparable part of mankind. It is now almost everywhere in different name and purpose starting from home to corporate sector or in a factory. People now, without even having a little knowledge about how it works, using its facilities and services offering every day. They cannot think of their life without these forms of facilities as they have become very much dependent on that. This is a matter of fact that Intelligent Systems has became so unpredictable to the people since ages because of its surprising manner; it has surprised yesterday, surprising today and left in mystery for tomorrow, even for the people associated in this field. But we, the interested people, never gave up breaking the mystery and gathering knowledge in depth for own curiosity and peoples good. I feel more and more interest to know what so ever service and facilities I use or have a little knowledge offered by this system.
On my interest, I have completed my graduation in Business Information Technology and during my study I have earned answers for many questions and came up with another set of new questions in many situations. I have done many practical course work and final project but I never could satisfy myself at the end as I had desire to drill even deeper just because I had not enough knowledge for that level of research work or developments. Therefore, like others, I had to write a section of Future Recommendation about what I could do if I had that special knowledge at that moment. The reasons why I have chosen to do my masters in Intelligent Adaptive Systems is mostly my limitless interest to know more about this revolutionary system and another is, it is quite closer to my previous degree.
Apart from all those personal interest, I always had desire to do something in medical ground where people’s health and life is involved. If I could, I would like to develop an medical condition analyzer and interactive communication and recommendation system for individual person, with that they will be able to know, what is the current condition comparing the pasts, possible changes in near future depending on current and past actions and what measures and action they should take in future to be fit. And if possible, it would be connected with doctors or hospitals side as well in network where they could analyze and advice on interactive warning generated by the system immediately for the patient. A database will work at the back end for recording and analyzing. And all those will only possible if I got the chance to learn in a University like University of Y and have opportunity to be in touch with great professors of the university.
It never took long to make decision for applying in Intelligent Adaptive System at University of Y as the course is offering something which is quite similar to my previous study and will lead to my dream. Studying in a first world country like United Kingdom at Bachelor level, I had known the importance of method of learning; working with live situations, research, practical work is the key and University of Hamburg is offering a extensive opportunity to that learning process with their great professors for learning, whose are truly bank of knowledge. This opportunity will take me a step ahead to my desire of doing PhD after my masters.
