Letter of Motivation

Information Technology as a career had always enchanted me right from my school days. The field of Computer Sciences has grown and evolved significantly in recent years. I started paying more attention to computer technology field. I begin to realize the increasing reliance of humanity on computer networks. I still remember how excited I was when I received my first computer in 2002 , Since then my captivations over the power of computers never vanished and as a result I developed my dream of becoming an IT expert. The areas I am particularly interested in are Networking and the software. My allure about designing the computer network drives me to pursue a master's degree in computer sciences.

I have passed my BSc Telecommunication Engineering degree from Government college university Faisalabad, Pakistan. This is rated as one of the best Government universities for technology in Pakistan. During my undergraduate years, I acquired a comprehensive knowledge in mathematics and computer science, and maintained a high level of performance through out the program. I did 137 Credit hours courses with 3.04/4.00 CGPA. I have also attended a workshop on Micro controller Interfacing and Embedded System. On few projects, I worked individually and in others, worked as a team member, which makes me able to fit in all type of conditions and to trust my potentialities.

In addition to my educational background, I also possess a vast experience in diverse working environments. Throughout my professional career, I have always held highly responsible positions in the field of IT. During the past year, I am working as the Network Engineer in IT department at Loyal Textile, a private firm providing textile products services. Meanwhile I have taken CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associates) Training from the NFC Institute of Engineering & Fertilizer Research, Faisalabad Pakistan. This training proves extra skills for me as network engineer.

University of Tromso is reputed for its specialty in Computer Sciences, which ranks at the very top in the Norway. Master’s in Computer Sciences at UiT will not only give me cognition but also provide me the invaluable skills to manage, lead and collaborate effectively with people. The specialty has a very strong faculty and advanced research facilities. It offers impressive research-intensive programs and many field trips. Such an academic environment agrees very well with my academic and research interests. In my future program, I will continue to build up my theoretical knowledge, consolidate my basic skills, and learn the most recent advanced technologies. I earnestly believe that my degree program at the UiT will be a fruitful one. After graduating with a Master’s degree in Computer Science from UiT, I will able to work within many different industries, for instance IT, mobile, health, teaching and oil.

Norway is education amicable country and encouraging higher education in every possible manner without discrimination of race, gender and religion. Norway has one of Europe's most comprehensive quality evaluation systems. Few of my friends are already studying in Norwegian Universities and they admire the high standard of education and their amicable culture. These are the reasons for which I have chosen UiT for my higher education.

A person with solid educational background and mind provoking idea is always preferred which is the specialty of a UiT student. Pakistan is in desperate need of foreign qualified persons and their skills for development in the country. So in future when I'll return back I am sure that I will be in a good position to serve my country.

I believe that I have the capability, and potential to take this position.
