Motivation Letter for exchange program, Helsinki

Hello, this it my motivation letter for exchange program at University of Helsinki.
I've read posts with examples of motivation letters present here and tried to take into account all recommendations. Official recommendations from the university include conciseness so I tried also to be brief.

This is my first motivation letter and english isn't my native language so I would appreciate any help.

Dear Sir or Madam,

I want to apply for the student exchange program at University of Helsinki for the 2011 autumn term.

I am studying at Faculty of XXX at YYY University. Since the high school period I am strongly interested in math and programming. While educational program at my faculty gives primarily theoretical knowledge I attended facultative courses on algorithms and discrete math. I have participated in many programming contests including team competitions. At 2010 my team, where I have participated not only as mathematician and programmer but also as a team leader, have won third prize at Semifinal Round of North-Eastern European Regional Contest. Solving mathematical puzzles does not restrict my interest in scientific research and I try to attend every course I am interested in. At 2010 I have participated in Yandex Summer School on Machine Translation where I got acquainted with Machine Learning methods and applications of Probability Theory in science intensive and perspective area. It was a time when I chose my future specialization.

Now my major is information retrieval which I master under supervision of ZZZ. It is quite young subject at my faculty, there are only a few relevant courses and community involved in educational process is pretty small. Courses taught on Department of Computer Science at University of Helsinki would be perfect for further educational and research activity in my area. Your university produced not the one generation of successful computer scientists and I hope to gain advantage from this. My future career is concerned with design of intellectual computer systems and therefore knowledge of fundamental principles and common approaches is essential.

Thank you for considering my application. I look forward to your acceptance.

Yours sincerely,
QQQ

MountainHikerI have a strong record of academic achievement as shown by ...(list them...you can even use a colon if you like). And now, tie in your achievements with your current studies and ultimate career objective.

EvernightI think this is not the best option for me because it would be hard to make this list impressive enough. Yes, I study a lot, and yes, I have some achievements. But yet I don't have too many serious awards or publications. There are things I didn't mention in the original letter, for example, I also occasionally give lessons on programming to high school students,
