Motivation Letter for European Volunteer Service - ESV

Hi everybody,

I've written a motivation letter to apply a European Volunteer Service - EVS in a cultural center in Sweden. That is my first motivation letter in english so I'm sure there is a lot of mistakes in it. I would like to know if anyone here could kindly help me with my letter.

" As a young cultural worker, I am asking to be considered for a European Voluntary Service in ----. In order to gain voluntary experience abroad and widen my skills in cultural management, I am actively seeking a Nordic host-organization involved in the field of Art and Culture. I am planning to carry out a mission from February 2014, for around a 6 months period.

I am 26 years-old and I live in Montpellier, in the South of France. Curious and creative, I am passionate about art and culture in their broadest senses. Besides, I delight in travelling and experiencing new projects.

For eight years, I have gained wide experience in cultural management. I started my career path by volunteering in multiples cultural associations, in which I was able to set up music festival, to create drama shows and to play a part in shooting short films. Moreover, during my studies in Performing Arts and Cultural Management, I had several works placements in cultural centers and festivals. I was in charge of many missions such as scheduling and organizing artistic events, researching fundraising opportunities, supporting performing art productions, designing communication strategies, developing cultural partnerships with schools. After graduating, I decided to manage a performing art company for which I was in charge of supporting production and development. This position tested my keen, my energy and my initiative.

Enriched by all these experiences, I wish now to assert my passion for music and cinema in a cross-cultural environment. Attracted by Swedish culture, I have a long wanted to discover this country, to find out its lifestyle and to learn its language. Moreover, deeply interested in ----‘s network, I am eager to contribute in its activities. Due to my longings and my skills, I am confident that ----- can be the perfect place to run my EVS project.

Hard-worker and fast-learner, I am eager to experience new projects in a Swedish organization. I would greatly enjoy using my experience, my creativity and my keen to assist -------’s team in their bubbling activities.
