Motivation letter for Erasmus program

hello dear all, I'm applying for the Erasmus program and I can't already look at my motivation letter, I've been trying to do my best with it, but not sure somehow about how good the letter is. would you please read it and critisize? thank you!

I am writing to you to apply for the Erasmus Mundus Master’s Degree in .... I believe my strong academic background combined with my work experience may fulfill your requirements. My choice of the program is determined by a number of reasons and circumstances which make this particular program especially appealing to me.
First, I have always been passionate for foreign languages and this passion influenced greatly upon my choice of my first degree. I was educated in a teacher training university where linguistics and developmental psychology were the main subjects of the curriculum. It was there and then I developed deep interest in linguistics as a science and decided to connect my life with it. I wrote a term paper in linguistics that later became the basis for my graduation thesis which I think was a good start. I also participated in the university’s linguistic conference during my fifth year where I gave a lecture on the subject of my thesis research that was a part of my graduation work. When I started the term paper in my third year it was my passion for research which helped me to actually successfully finish the work since there was no information available on the topic elsewhere nor was this subject written about before.
I welcome the opportunity to learn one more foreign language. I think studying a language not only helps to understand a different culture and people, even more, it helps to develop our memory and cognitive abilities which I think is absolutely fascinating. This was why I started learning Japanese and by working hard I reached the intermediate level in two and a half years. I think it is a good result considering the fact that the Japanese language is a direct opposite of my native language and any European language in the aspects of grammar and logic, and the only foreign languages I studied before were English and German.
The developmental psychology was also one of the main subjects of the curriculum and among other aspects we studied such condition as speech-language pathology and therapy. I find this fact very interesting since speech is the part of our brain activity and if there is a pathological speech condition then there is a brain condition also. But human brain is still quite a mystery and it makes me strive to uncover the mystery by doing research work in this sphere. And I wish I knew more and understood more about brain activity and brain itself because this understanding gives way to understanding of many important processes of human life, speech being the crucial part of it because we live in a society that makes us communicate with each other.
My work experience seems to have little connection to clinical linguistics but it does have connection to linguistics as such since I work as a translator and interpreter. Doing this work I have developed research skills that are definitely useful while studying brain and speech and communication skills that are important for studying in international surroundings. Besides being an interpreter means communicating with people from foreign countries, the experience I totally welcome.
The department web site revealed that the teachers are internationally known researches and really inspirational for their students. This has strengthened my resolve to study within the ... program because there is nothing like a great teacher who makes you to strive for more knowledge. I am confident that the erudite faculty will make my learning experience extraordinary. If I get the opportunity to be a part of that intellectually stimulating environment, I am sure to put my talents to optimal use.
It has been five years of my working as a translator and interpreter but now I do not feel satisfied with the way I chose five years ago. I am more of researcher than practitioner which brought home the thought to study again. My colleague recommended the Erasmus Mundus and it was when I saw the ... program and thought this was exactly what I would like to study and to do in future.
