Motivation letter for Erasmus

Could somebody please revise my motivation letter for me?
I've read like ten of threads corrected by MountainHiker so tried to do my best! But still need someone else's eye here.
Thank you!

Dear Sir or Madam,
I am writing to apply to the Erasmus Mundus European Master’s Program in Language and Communication Technologies. My career ambition is to become a doctor conducting research in machine translation.
I graduated with a Master’s degree in Computer Science from one of the top technical Russian universities with a GPA of 4.7 out of a possible 5.0 in 2010. After graduation and six years of work, I have become a system analyst at a leading international investment bank. I am responsible for support of two projects in client relationship management (CRM) and involved in the development of a new back-office system. Though my career in information technology field is fulfilling, I wish to pursue my aspiration and combine my interest in linguistics and natural languages with the area of computer science, in which I already have experience.

Throughout my academic career, I have consistently achieved outstanding grades. I graduated from high school with advanced English study with a gold medal. During this early experience I had a chance to study English and American literature and history and was fascinated by the complexity and power of a foreign language. At the same time I had an interest in science and programming which encouraged me to choose a technical university and a major in information technology. Striving to reflect my interest in linguistics in my studies, I wrote my Master thesis on speech recognition. The developed software recognized a finite set of voice commands with a pre-trained neural network and directed a car image on a screen.

As I was eager to get experience in the industry, I got my first job while still studying at the university. This helped me to develop strong time management skills.

Throughout my work career, I have gained abundant expertise to add to my theoretical background. I have also had an opportunity to share my knowledge with other team members and manage their work. At YYY I entered a developer position and, being later promoted to senior developer, took supervision over a junior specialist. Our team has successfully developed a CRM project for AAA, one of the largest automotive retailers in Russia.
During my work experience at XXX I’ve been fortunate to work with highly qualified professionals and extend my knowledge in various fields of IT. Keeping up to high coding standards I noticeably improved my programming skills. I took part in a new CRM project development and later became responsible for its entire support. I thus gained experience in performing a full-cycle solution implementation. My accomplishments have been recently marked by promotion to Associate (second-tier position in investment banking hierarchy).

During my working years I preserved my interest in languages and took courses in English, Spanish and German.

About a year ago I resolved to renew studying and pursue a career in computer linguistics. I’ve completed several online courses in Machine learning, Data Analysis and Statistics as well as attended lectures and conferences like ZZZ. This summer I have been accepted to XXX School dedicated to natural language processing (NLP) among 41% of all applicants. It has considerably broadened my knowledge in NLP field and made me acquainted with some state of the art methods such as deep learning LSTM networks. While I have gained a lot of information, it also became clear to me that I need a more profound education in Computational Linguistics to become an expert and researcher. For these reasons, I want to continue my studies and obtain a Master’s degree in the field that ignites my curiosity the most.

I have chosen the Erasmus Mundus Program in Language and Communication Technologies because of its acknowledged high-quality educational program which includes the latest technologies such as neural networks. I am also very excited about this unique opportunity to spend each of the two years in different culture, experience new educational methods and learn another language. Furthermore, I believe that cross cultural learning is essential to developing a broader view on the subject especially in the field of Language Technology. All these positives make me confident of my decision.

With a solid foundation in academic theory and experience gained from my career I am certain that I will be able to exceed your expectations. Furthermore, my commitment to excellence and passion in linguistics will make me an active member willing to contribute in research.
Thank you for considering my application. I look forward to your acceptance.

Sincerely yours,
Evgenia
