Hi everyone!

I would greatly appreciate your comments-suggestions on my 'motivation letter' to participate to an Undergraduate Summer Camp. The motivation letter has a great importance in the selection process, so please give me your feedback!

Thanks in advance

Object: Application to Campus Abroad Program – Summer 2009

The purpose of this letter is to briefly describe my educational background and focus your attention on how motivated I am to participate to a Campus Abroad experience.
After getting my High School Diploma from Liceo Classico Parini in Milan, I started a three-year Degree in Economy and Management (CLEAM) at Bocconi University which enriched my culture and increased my enthusiasm in participating to international exchange programs. I am fluent in English (CAE), and I speak fairly well German and Spanish.

I believe that the opportunity offered by the Campus Abroad, although limited to a quick three weeks experience, would increase my knowledge of diverse cultural environments and would provide tools to better understand different education contexts and teaching systems.

The themes treated in the campuses this year are particularly attractive and actual. I’d be particularly motivated in participating to the Vancouver campus at the Simon Fraser University which deals with the corporate banking topic; it’s a real issue in a “credit crunch” period like the current one. It is essential to identify tools and strategies that will allow the corporations to find the required funds for their growth both from the market and the banks. Is still “project financing” the answer? How can corporations investment plans be credible for the financial market and attract financial resources ? Which others financial instruments can be successful in the current financial situation?
Also the topics covered in the Seoul-Tokyo joint campus and at the Ecole des Hautes Etudes Commerciales of Montreal are very appealing: cooperation and integration processes, risks of protectionism to defend the national financial systems, opportunities and limits of the globalisation (again, in a ‘changing word’ due the present economic crisis).

In addition to these educational aspects, I’m very much interested in an abroad experience (that would be added to the many “summer camps” in different European countries I’ve been participating to during my secondary school), and this both for my personal growth and for enhancing my network of colleagues and friends around the world. And finally – why not? – for the deliciousness of the local cuisine (exotic food is one of my interests and hobbies…).

I strongly believe that a Campus Abroad experience will be a key, necessary addition to my career path, as well as an chance to demonstrate myself that I am able to relate to different and even unexpected situations.

I am very motivated to start this Program and I hope I’ll have the chance to succeed in participating in this exciting initiative.

Thank you for considering my application

Sincerely
