Dear Sir/Madam:



I am writing to you in order to apply for the PhD position you are offering.



I graduated in electrical engineering in December 2009 from the University of XXX, Faculty of XXX, XXX. My degree covers an intengration of multidisciplinary knowledge, as well as measurement and acquisition of physical quantities, transform to electrical signals, analog and digital preprocessing, embedded system and networks for digital signal processing, transmission, analysis, storage and display of data.



Although the study curriculum was broad, I have been most fascinated by interdisciplinary subjects, particularly by the fusion of the medical and kinesiological sciences and electrical engineering. As I was very delighted by faculty visits to the university hospital and sports institutions, I decided to focus my final part of the study to the scientific research in the area of biomedical engineering. My graduation thesis consisted of a finite element study of the major electrical and anatomical influences on intrabody communication. My thesis was a part of research where human body representing a transmission medium of telemetry system for the kinesiological electromyography was investigated. My graduation examination was evaluated with the highest grade.



Through my studies, I have been always willing to examine subjects theoretical and practical materials in advance in order to participate in the teaching fellowships to help other students to pass their laboratory work. I found teaching fellowships the best way to develop team spirit and communication skills, as well as to improve my own knowledge. Furthermore, I was delighted to get an opportunity to be involved in a six-month internship in XXX which was a tremendous professional and private experience for me considering exchanging expert ideas with people from all around the world.



Henceforward, I am especially interested in further scientific research in the field of biomedical engineering and computing. I wish I could make significant contributions in the area of study which engages health care procedures using my creativity as a scientist. Therefore, I would be very excited to pursue an unique PhD programme you are offering. My education and experience have provided me with valuable insights to the technical aspects required to work in this field. I believe my qualifications and professional background meet your needs.
