motivation letter feedback please?

Can someone help me with my motivation letter?
I'm concerned about pretty much everything that could go wrong with a motivational letter. this is so very important to me. i've seen many motivation letters on here that very good help from some great people on here (ie mountainhiker) unfortunately he is not available. I would really really appreciate it if someone could help me out thoroughly, as he would.

Dear Sir or Madam:

I am writing to express my interest in applying for the Bachelors of Fine Art degree program at the regal Art Academy for September 2012. I would like to devote my life as a visual artist to explore my artistic abilities, create work that is more personal and express ideas that provoke my imagination.

Although I currently hold a bachelors degree in chemistry, I always had a wide array of interests. I have a true passion for art and have always been artistically inclined and enjoy articulating my ideas and thoughts into something tangible. For me art just isn’t an area of study, but a way of life. I am always searching, looking, thinking and feeling in the context of art. So the next logical step was to follow my passion and commit myself to pursuing further studies in the visual arts.
I have taken progressive steps toward my aspirations. By enrolling in studio art courses at a community college, I have continued to foster my artistic ambitions. During my time there I was able to distinguish myself from my peers, advancing my skills quickly, learning various techniques, media and materials. Although I have had no previous formal training in art, the ability to express my self creatively comes naturally.

Moreover, from exploring my artistic abilities, the process of art making, specifically, conception and execution is what interests me the most. I discovered that the physical labor and the problem solving involved in creating the works of art is not only self-fulfilling but at the same time a spiritual one.

What I hope to achieve in the program is the interaction with other students and teachers of art; it will be the most critical advantage in an ideal artistic environment. I believe that interactions with artistic people who share similar interests or difficulties will be the best way to develop my art. They will allow me to encounter various working styles; techniques, perspectives, values and criticism, and will eventually stimulate my artistic abilities. Thus, I seek an artistic environment of open communications characterized by active feedback, discussions and critiques.

I have a clear vision for what I want to achieve through my studies. I am confident in my personality and my skills, but I recognize that my knowledge in some areas is limited. I therefore have chosen your program, because of your outstanding educational system and the focus of the specialized course. I am determined to make the most out of the time I am at regal academy. I will optimize my stay at regal to garner a wealth of ideas. Given the opportunity, I believe that I will not only continue to grow in my own work, but also contribute to the development of my peers in the program and of the university’s diversity.
