Hello everybody, could you be so kind and look at my motivation letter for my preferred exchange program in the united states. Let me know, what do you think about it. The task was to describe the study stay and which courses you like to attend. I didn't write much about my personal motivation because i dont think that my professor doesnt want to read that kind of bla bla ^^ Regards Lukas

Dear ao. Univ.-Prof. Mag. Dr. Siegfried Fina,
I am writing to apply for the student exchange program at the Santa Clara Law School for the upcoming fall semester 2015. This fall term I finished my third year of study and the second stage of the diploma programme in law. The exchange semester would be my penultimate semester and I would like to take the opportunity to study abroad to focus on international law and my specialisation in technology law.
There are four courses offered by santa clara law school in the fall semester, which perfectly match my study plan: International Law (three units), International Organizations( three units), Intellectual Property Survey( three units) and IP Theory (three units).
With this course combination I can get knowledge in both fields gaining access to the education of one of the best high tech law institutes of the United States. This would really be of great value to me because I follow a future career path in this field of study and in an international environment.
I also want to strengthen my academic English and engage more effectively in a range of speaking situations typical of legal practice, which I shall accomplish by studying abroad for five months. Alongside improving my spoken and written English, I want to broaden my legal horizon and therefore get in touch with an academic system of a common law country. I am sure that the exchange experience would not only be exciting, intensive, and valuable educationally for my professional career, but also for my overall personal development.
