Motivation letter - could you help me please to correct it?

Hi, my name is Sandra, I am from Latvia (I think that most part of people doesn`t even know where it is) and I am asking for your help, because my English knowledge isn`t so good as i want to. This is my motivation letter for one the best universities here, the deadline is close - 28.06.10. So please help me if you can!

Dear Sir or Madam,

this year I graduated Secondary school in Latvia, Riga and I would like to apply for the Bachelor of Diplomacy and International Relations programme at Riga Graduate School of Law. I want to gain a deeper understanding in law and international relations, in order better prepare for my future career in diplomatic institutions.
This year, 2010, I graduated Riga's Secondary School No. * with average mark - 8,2. In my studies I was especially interested in history, culture-history and economics. I have active shared in schools social life and participated in schools official events organization and also in their management. For 6 years I have been participated in schools theatre studio, where I gained experience to perform for a large audience. In last years I have followed up with the political and economic events not only in Latvia, but also in elsewhere in the world, what made me start to interest about international relations.
Considered my current interest in international developments in conation with Latvia and my gained insight on the international level work, I came to recognize that in my future education I need to improve my knowledge about law, politics, economics and history. Also in my opinion very important is language knowledge which is based on the practice.
Considering my future education opportunities I chose your university, because Graduate School of Law is recognized as one of the best law schools in the Latvia and you can offer high level studies programme for students who want to connect their future plans with international area work, what is very important for me, because I would like that my scope of work would be linked to major international current events in Latvia.
