Hello, In order to apply to a Master's program in IT , I am required to write a motivation letter. Could anyone have a look at it an give me your opinions ? It would be a great help to have someone else's objective opinion and I would appreciate it a lot. Thanks in advance, Luciana
During the period of ****-****, I studied at the Faculty of ****. The emphasis of my studies was understanding the fundamental software development principles that govern the modern day IT programs. But I also learned about other diverse topics such as logics, economics and basics of information management. I found the last 2 topics to be very interesting because one of my career aspirations is to enhance my knowledge and progress in the information analysis and information-technology strategy domain. I already made the first step towards achieving my goals and I am currently working as a database administrator for one of the leading banking corporations.
To further my career aspirations of becoming an information analyst, I want to obtain a Master’s degree in information management. Having access to new information will allow me to better understand management principles and to combine them with technological knowledge to obtain the best results. As information management was one of my passions since the beginning of my student life, throughout the years I tried to explore this domain considering it as a very important part of the software development lifecycle. Later on, experience has proved that complex processes followed in companies accentuate the fact that it is very important to have a common ground between technical and business analysts. That is why I find that following this Master’s program will allow me to better understand each of these domains and the transition between them.
Armed with a solid understanding of academic principles, I can take a step forward into my career where adding experience will enhance the acquired notions. This information will help me develop the necessary skills required to perform information needs analysis, and further on to design and manage information systems. In a constantly changing economical and technological environment, I will be able to adapt and modify the theoretical constructs in order to meet the company’s needs and business strategies. I am also aware that dedication and perseverance are the very important in achieving the best results and I believe my background will qualify me for this Master’s Program.
Looking forward to join the Master in Information Management in order to prove my abilities and to gain new skills, I thank you for your consideration.

I have not much experience with such motivation letters, but I am known for my (constructive) criticism, and can provide you at least with an external opinion.
In any case, you should write "dedication and perseverance are very important" and not "dedication and perseverance are the very important" in the 3rd paragraph. The rest is a matter of taste, I suppose, but I think s
Thanks a lot. Indeed, it seems I forgot some words when editing, very well seen, thanks . I was a bit afraid that the letter would be "hard" for the reader, especially because of the long sentences(and the fact that I am not a native english speaker). I will take into account your suggestions and apply them to simplify some of the ph
