Motivation letter?

This is a rough copy of my motivation letter to a Finland University. I have read through it many times but I am not yet content. I would appreciate all comments and help! Thanks

Dear Sir/Madam,

My name is Chi Pham. I am from Vietnam and I am applying for Bachelor’s degree programme in Environmental Engineering in Tampere University of Applied Sciences (TAMK). I received my entrance exam result and my placement at the waiting list is 1.

What initially drew me to TAMK was its international learning environment. The fact that TAMK has degree students from more than 70 countries provides me the opportunity to get exposed to different cultures and languages. I believe this will have great influence on my future international career by broadening not only my knowledge but also my relationship circle. In addition to that, TAMK’s modern facilities and well-developed infrastructure make it easier for theory taught by high-qualified lecturers to be applied into practice. Thus, I believe TAMK is the ideal environment for me to develop myself and my career.

Environment has always been an issue that requires special attention. For instance, enormous amount of money and effort has been invested in reducing pollution. Therefore, the role of environmental engineers is becoming more and more significant in such fields. Realizing the importance of this demanding but rewarding profession, I would love to join hands to make our planet a better place to live.

I understand that one needs many characteristics to become a good environmental engineering since they are those who directly investigate how human affect the environment and find ways to deal with these effects on the environment. An engineer has to be detail-oriented, open-minded and creative. Good communication skills in both writing and speaking as well as ability to problem-solve and strong team work skill is also needed in order for engineers to identify hazard and create plans for containment. Considering myself as a dedicated, competent and hard-working individual, I am confident that I have all the above mentioned characteristics to become a good engineer. Besides, environmental engineers have the possibility to work in a wide range of industries such as pollution control, land management, water supply and waste disposal. Therefore, the versatility of this profession is fascinating.

I believe that being a TAMK student would not only empower my career development but also give me the framework to utilize my full potentials. Thank you in advance for your consideration of my application.
