i am going to apply at a university. i have written down this letter in order to convince the selectors for my intended degree. i am looking forward to experts' comments and suggestions because i have short time for submission..please assist me in this regard.

Dear sir/madam,
I am writing to apply for International Mater’s Programme in Finance (MF) at University of ...... After having a specialization in Finance and Banking in my Bachelor degree, my career dream is to become a research analyst in this field.

My interest to study Finance during taking the first course named Introduction to Finance and at the very beginning of university life. However, the key to pursue business field was because when I took my college study background as business studies after passing school in 2009. This is due to the out boundary career prospects in commerce field according to our country. I remember that I consulted with many teachers and senior students who recommended me to choose business studies during admission to the college. In college, though a new comer in business background, I found myself quite curious to know about the world of business during class hour and personal appointment with course teachers. They helped me a lot to understand primary concepts and learning, which introduced me with the realm of today’s business atmosphere as well as career prospects in this field. In the very short time, I managed and adapted my study difficulties by discussing with peers, mates, and private tutors. Afterwards, two years of college study stimulated me to pursue Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) at my tertiary level because I was strong enough to handle challenging tasks in further studies that had been established by the effective learning from college.
The BBA program is designed as sandwich to equip students with business knowledge and create entrepreneurial stimulation after completing of their study, which is followed by four majors according to our university. The extreme thirsty to know global business and how it works began during my tertiary level of study. At that time, among different functions in business field I was fascinated by the finance and banking as it is flexible, dynamic, and challenging environment that goes to my norm.

I was mesmerized by the flavor and beauty of finance during studying Introduction to Finance course in 5th semester. The course enabled me to introduce with basic concepts and learning such as time value of money, stock valuation, bond valuation, risk and return and so on. By studying these chapters, I recognized the true use of fund in the real world and the value of it as it remained unknown before and the inquisitiveness to unveil shadow was begun then. I read often fundamentals of financial Management and tried to understand and I went to teachers who are taught by Finance if any complexity arises. Thus, the nature and curiosity of studying finance started during half of my university studies, which ultimately led to the decision to major in finance and banking. There the vast array of specialized courses in finance and banking and the more knowledge teacher inspired one, a lot to understand critical points that was unclear before I studied a lot amount of time than I used to spend because I observed that the more I go through a single topic, the more new things findings I can come up with. Everything was quiet puzzling and analytical that eventually led to adorn my life with the effective management of finance. As a result, I took a book, personal finance and studied many chapters in order to actualize if in my life as a way of satisfaction that I am studying finance and need to apply it in my life. This was how the journey to quench knowledge was started.

During studying finance and banking courses in the 10th and 11th semester respectively, I have had an insightful exploration in different crucial academic concepts and techniques. When I studied portfolio theory, CAMP, market model and so many other important topics I had much vigilance in order to execute the learning things into real world. As a part of my Corporate Finance course, we got an assignment involved a case study of a business firm in which a major problem of business firm can be identified and analyzed the business problem in order to resolve this issue with effective recommendations in control of financial point. By doing this case study, I have gained practical touch of this course. Apart from this, the diversification and inherent dynamism in finance and banking career to date has been the key factor that pushes me to be inspiring and challenging.

Pursuing the linear path of academic field will strengthen my career with vast amount of knowledge to reach my career destination. Studying MF degree would equip me with enough flexibility in my intended career and the courses will be taught has practical linkage to become successful investment professional. Courses included in my MF program such as corporate finance, asset pricing, alternative investments, portfolio management and so on would aid me to relate taught theory into real world, sufficient knowledge to get my destination. As I already flavored somewhat of these areas in my tertiary study, I am confident to further explore those areas with sharp insight so that it will be easier to synthesize various concepts and choose a topic for doctoral thesis.

I have optimum level of enthusiasm and passion to study finance and have willpower to establish my career in this field. As MF degree provides up to date knowledge of global complex financial markets, it would help me understand empirical and contemporary finance concepts and theory needed to succeed in the realm domestic and global economy.

Business school is the second largest and famous business school in Finland and provides facilities international students in many aspects.OBS assists students to come up with high-level business ideas to its business kitchen world so that I can brainstorm to revive my entrepreneurial skills. Because I studied Entrepreneurship course and found it exciting to discover business ideas ‘Holy City House Rent & Consultancy’ I developed in my locality. It was fantastic when I met business professionals, media people and senior students and presented my ideas in front of them. Indeed, it deserved a new window of motivating me and I built stronger weak-tie relationships.
I chose ... University because one of its school, OBS has its unique innovation centre, named Martti Ahtisaari Institute which is responsible for developing international research and education activities in global business and economy. I feel great because of its outstanding research infrastructure and some projects, including one is Sustainable Corporate Governance, that make the theoretical knowledge into practice with a view to widening business opportunities locally and globally. I am optimistic to pursue international doctoral studies at the institute which would educate me to research in my own field of study (e.g. finance) and aid me to expand my wings towards contemporary finance world such as asset allocation, portfolio management, and behavioral finance.

As I have studied finance and banking courses in my Bachelor program, I have developed certain skills and learning necessary to handle the further studies. Analytical touch what I got from investment theory and corporate finance course enabled me to become diligent as well as devoted to study. Without proper understanding, I could not leave a topic. In my major courses, I helped my classmates who were unable to solve critical maths and understand key topics, which also became an effective way to express how much I understood and how easily others understand me. This has made me self-confident.

At the moment, I am doing internship as part of my degree. I have found it as a good way of making new relationships not only with employers of bank but also with clients who make transactions there. As a result, I further developed my communication and interpersonal skills in the context of professionalism, which I believe useful to understand the language of the bank. Furthermore, I remember a course called Introduction to Banking that has enriched with basic knowledge about banking world helps to understand real banking. In addition, I am currently making a report on performance of SME loan at Southeast Bank Ltd and that will give me chance to access the bank’s loan and advance department.
