Motivation Letter

Dear Sir or Madam,
My name is Nur Fajriah Julianti Syukri. I am Indonesian and will graduate from SMA Negeri 1 Bogor in 2015. I am writing this letter to apply for admission into the Bachelor of International Business and Management Studies program at The Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences, as I have an ambition to build my own business.

I’ve always shown great performances in English and Math since elementary school. To sharpen my capability in those subjects, I have taken English and Math courses in professional institutes. My English performance has been increasing rapidly since then, making me the best student for three times and the outstanding student for the final level in my English course. In elementary and junior high school, I have been chosen several times as the representative of my school to compete in some student competitions in my city.
Complementing my strong academic performances, are my advanced skills in self-management and adaptation. As a member of mountaineering club, I have been trained and skilled to survive in the wild. In every expeditions , I am wired to manage itineraries, food supplies, routes, fares, and other preparations thoroughly in order to accomplish the expeditions safely. To survive in the wild, I have to be able to adapt in every conditions, especially in the worst circumstances.

In 2013, I was the club treasurer responsible for managing and maintaining our club financial. At the beginning, I had to prepared club’s budget, presented it to the board of approval, and ensured that club activities adhered to the budget. My weekly task was to collect member dues and record all expenditures and income for the week in accurate books that would enabled me to give a full financial report whenever requested. By donating my time as the club treasurer, I learned to be discipline and decisive. Throughout my service, I successfully increase club saving by accurately managing club’s income and outcome.

I am lucky to find out my passion in my early life. In 2nd grade, I managed to sell girls’ accessories at school and gained big interest and passion in entrepreneurship. Since then, I started to expand my experience by selling various kinds of items. I love the idea of marketing strategy and managing my business, that’s why I want to develop my educations and skills in business and management. I also realized that international connection is an important factor to build a successful business in today’s business world.
To support my career ambition, I have constructed a plan to continue my study in business programme that covers Entrepreneurship, Finance, Marketing, and International Business. I have done some researches to find a program that covers all those subjects and found that International Business and Management Studies is the most suitable programme. I am certain that this programme would train me to be a creative entrepreneur with excellent communication skills, advanced leadership, and numerous international experiences.

I want to study at Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences because of your outstanding educational system, excellent facilities, and international environment. After doing some researches and discussing with my parents and teachers, I am certain that your university is the best choice for my future education and career. With its location in The Netherlands, I am confident that studying in Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences will improve my English and expand my social network to international level.

With my strong academic performance and experience in business and financial management, I am confident that I am qualified and able to give my best performance to this programme. My passion in international business and marketing strategy will produce great contributions by making fresh business ideas. And my international background and adaptability will add more diversity to your programme.
