Hi, I am applying to Netherlands for my masters. Could you guys look at my letter of motivation and suggest me alterations to be made?

LETTER OF MOTIVATION

Respected Sir/Madam,

I hereby apply for admission to Msc Sustainable Energy Technology at the Eindhoven University of Technology for the 2015 September intake. I am strongly interested in the degree program and I believe my strong academic background in Engineering fulfills the requirement.

I am Nepalese Mechanical Engineer recently graduated from ABC Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering). I had an opportunity to undergo a five month internship program at XYZ. The four years spent in foreign country during the undergraduate program and internship program gave me a valuable experience in living, studying and working abroad. The knowledge thus gathered is certain to help me in acclimatizing to a new environment of the Master’s degree program.

During the coursework I developed good knowledge in Fluid Mechanics, Thermal Engineering, Heat Transfer and Energy Conversion. In addition to these subjects I developed good understanding of Mathematics and Physics. The courses of Environmental Studies and Renewable Energy Systems provided me an in look into the various aspects of Renewable Energy Technology and their sustainable use to protect the environment. In addition to the commitment to the coursework during the degree program, I was a member of the University football team and had the opportunity to represent the University at various competitions.

Coming from an underdeveloped country with persistent problem in Energy production and sustainable consumption, I developed a strong desire and motivation to work and contribute in this sector during my study. To further my academic and career aspirants of becoming an expert in the energy sector, I want to obtain a masters degree in Sustainable Energy Technology from your esteemed institution.

I want to study in the Netherlands because of the commitment Netherlands have made to the field of sustainable and renewable energy. I am sure there will be numerous opportunities to further my knowledge in the field. I want to be a part of Eindhoven University of Technology because of your outstanding education system focused on excellent research opportunities. By combining theoretical and specialized education with project and research work, I am sure I can gain valuable work experience.

I am sure if provided with the opportunity to further my studies at your institution, it would not only help me grow academically but will also provide me with the opportunity to grow personally.
