Hi everyone! I am Phuong and I am from Vietnam. I applied for a course at an university in the Netherlands. I wrote motivation letter for my application but I wonder whether it has mistakes. Could you please help me correct my letter? It will be my pleasure to read your replies. Thank you very much. Here it is
Ho Chi Minh City Vietnam April 10th, 2013 Dear Sir/Madam, I am Nguyen Nam Phuong and I would like to apply for the Bachelor in International Finance and Accounting, Short Degree Program at Saxion University of Applied Sciences. I want to gain deeper understanding about international finance and accounting in the Netherlands in order better prepare for my future career as a financial analyst. I have studied at Ton Duc Thang University for three years from 2010. My studies focus on Corporation Finance, Financial Investment, Accounting and Security Market. During my school time, I practiced to analyze financial reports of corporation, invested on virtual security market and get profit about 1.2 million Vietnam dong within 1 month as well as attended financial conferences about commercial banks in Vietnam. When I passed university entrance exam in Ton Duc Thang University, I got that there is an educational cooperation program, as known as “3+1” program between Ton Duc Thang University and Saxion University. I personally appreciate this program because I am going to work in a multinational corporation after graduating; therefore, I need to enhance knowledge about international finance. Additionally, Saxion University of Applied Sciences is one of the best universities in the Netherlands, I believe that knowledge that I gain there will be applied practically. During time studying this program, I had conversations as well as meetings with staff from Saxion University, especially I participated Research Skill course, were taught by Dr. Jan Noeverman, a beneficial one to prepare for study at Saxion. These helped me trust and had motivation to apply the course. To an Asian student, study at Western is a challenge but I strongly believe that one year in Saxion will bring to me critical knowledge and efficient working skills. I am confident that I can make a significant contribution to the classes, especially given my Vietnamese background, and that I will gain a strong education of Western society. Thank you for considering my application and I am looking forward to your favorable reply. Yours faithfully, Nguyen Nam Phuong
