MOTIVATION LETTER

Dear Sir or Madam

In the following letter I would like to express my interest in studying at the University of xxx as an Erasmus student.

I am currently attending the first year of Bachelor’s Degree programme in Economics and Management at the xxx. I am hereby applying to this programme because I am sure that it can be a rewarding experience on many levels including the professional and personal ones. Moreover, I consider this programme as a great opportunity to enrich my future studies and help me in my prospective career since my strong ambition is to become a member of the European Commission. For me to achieve my career goals, I need to focus on activities such as learning, training, developing communication skills and getting experience in the field of Economics and Management. All of these would be achieved by embarking on this programme.

Having looked through the materials provided, I was delighted to find the oppurtunity of studying Management at the xxx for one semester. Why I've chosen Canada as my preferred destination, is that Canada’s education reputation is based on quality and recognized for excellence across the entire education sector. Furthermore, xx and Italy are like-minded countries on key global and regional issues, partners in a range of multilateral institutions such as the UN, G8 and NATO for which I am really interested in.

I have chosen to apply for University of xx since the faculty’s ultimate goal is to advance knowledge and develop scholars and principled leaders who think globally and act insightfully thanks to the comprehensive programme offered. Another reason for choosing xx is that I was impressed by its Research centre: multi-disciplinary and cross-faculty institutes which conduct extensive research and provide outstanding information in the field of Economics and Management. Finally, I particularly appreciate the wide range of offered courses which are unique for me, because there is no equivalent at my home university. Furthermore, I'm enthusiastic about the possibility of improving my English but I would have also the chance to study another language such as French, for which the Language Centre provide plentiful courses.

I am totally confident in my abilities and hope previous results and strong motivation are sufficient and reasonable grounds for being enrolled in the Erasmus programme. In exchange for this golden opportunity, I would bring the educational experience gained throughout my academic period to international cooperation in future.
Spending one semester at the University of xx will meant living and studying in the inspiring, creative, and cosmopolite environment of one of the best Canadian universities.
