Motivation letter

Hello everybody! Emotion: smile
This is the first draft of my motivation letter, so I would really appreciate if you could read it and give me some feedback. Thank you so much!

Dear Sir or Madam,
I am applying to your MA in Contemporary European Studies for 2012/2013 academic year.

In 2011, I earned a Bachelor degree in French language and Literature from X University. Apart from being proficient in French, I can also speak English, Italian and Spanish.

My strong affinity for modern European languages as well as travelling through Europe made me more aware of cultural and political differences among European countries. Furthermore, working in tourism and hospitality industry gave me an opportunity to interact with people from all over the world and to develop myself as a more open-minded person.

Originating from X country, I would like to create benefits for Balkan region after successfully finishing your programme. I strongly believe that studying at your University will give me excellent opportunity to broaden my mind and give me an insight about European integration, economy and politics and thus enable me to help my own country.

I am particularly interested in your “Human Rights in Europe” and “European Union Justice and Home Affairs” modules. Seeing children as agents of change, I would like to base my career on fighting for children’s rights which is one of the objectives of European Union. I am especially interested in helping children and youth from vulnerable backgrounds. (I've been through civil war in my country, so should I state that as my motivation?)

Because I am a dynamic, ambitious and highly motivated student with a strong record of success, I am confident that I will exceed your expectations. Furthermore, my varied and rich background will add diversity to your programme.

Thank you for your consideration, and I look forward to your acceptance.

Yours faithfully,
