Motivation letter

Hello everybody!
Please i need your help. I have to write a motivation letter to participate at an international workshop. But i have never write that letters. This workshop is my dream and my chance to work with foreign architect, to practice English. It will be a big experience for me!
I kindly ask you to check it and give me some useful advise how to improve it.

Dear Commission!

I saw an ad about a 5-day international workshop “Kontraktova square: scenarios for development” in the House of architect on “Canactions 2012. Winter”. I have a very strong desire to participate in this workshop because I do care about problems of the development of my city Kyiv.
Please invite me into the architectural team “B” with tutors Jeroen de WILLINGEN. I would appreciate the opportunity to work, study and communicate with a foreign Architect & Urban Planner from that firm like DeZwarteHond, which activities I have been interested in for a long time.

I got interested in urban development when I was a 4-year student of the University KNUCiA. When I got the task of design “Theatre” I first asked myself whether our city needed another "theater" and, if it was “yes”, what it would look like and where it would be appropriate to locate it, taking into account the needs and interests of the inhabitants. The next step was to write an article “Peculiarities of the functional model forming of the theater complex structure in Kiev” on the basis of questionnaires and research made by me. After that the conception of the Theatrical space as a method of improving the socio-cultural conditions in Kiev was introduced. After entering postgraduate courses in 2011 I continued researching the problems of the urban environment harmonization.
In 2011 I took part in the Open International Architectural Competition: Urban landscaping in Kyiv for Euro 2012 and future. I attended all Thursday’s lectures, where I gained the knowledge of the important information about the problems of urban planning development of Kyiv and some possible ways of their solution.
Since I also work as a lecturer of architectural projecting in KNUCiA I could use my new knowledge and skills gained at the workshop to my students, thereby increasing their level of knowledge.

I think I have everything necessary for participating in this workshop because:
1) I have special knowledge and abilities;
2) I’m a young, energetic and I know how to work in a team;
3) I speak fluent English;
4) I do care about the quality of urban public space;
5) I have Master’s degree in Architecture;
6) I’m a PhD student of KNUCiA. The subject of my Thesis is directly related to the subject of this workshop.
