I would like to apply for the master`s degree in Regenerative Biology and Medicine starting in October 2012. I completed my Bachelor degree in Biotechnology and Genetic Engineering in February 2011 at **** University. After graduation I started training and working as a Lab Technician in some sections at different hospitals & medical centers, now am working as a medical representative in (*** ESTABLISHMENT) for Medical & Laboratory Supplies.
When I was in the 9th grade, I started reading and searching about genetic engineering and biotechnology; I found my way and decided to dedicate myself to this field of study. I have been attracted to this field, because first the purpose of this technological applications are improvement, optimization and modifying living organisms according to human purposes, which I am really motivated and curious about how can we do it. Second it’s a field of study that is not limited in one area of application. Third reason is my passion to seek in every innovative and new thing. Even though the number of the universities in my country that teach this field is very limited; just two universities, but I took this point as a challenge for me to get in this unique major in my country.
In my B.Sc. degree I learned the basic principal of biotechnology which draws on the pure biological sciences (genetics, microbiology, animal cell culture, plant tissue culture, cytogenetic, molecular biology, biochemistry, stem cells and cell biology).
My graduation research project was about (The Effect of Nutrient Synergy on The Modulation of Antibiotic Resistance of Microorganisms), and the main objective of this study is to find out the ginger synergy, antibiotic resistance on to the modulation of three ATCC; Escherichia coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, and staphylococcus aureus. I have chosen this subject as my graduation project to gain experiments and take my knowledge in microbiology to practice.
According to the restricted tools and opportunity I got in my B.Sc. degree, I found myself not sufficient about the amount and level of education I had. I believe that if I get my master degree, I will achieve my target and could help in the expansion of biotechnology and genetic engineering in my country in addition to involve in the development process to help people to understand and realize the importance of this field also to recognize the proper career for biotechnologist and what he could change and develop in different areas of life, which is a common trouble here in Jordan; I faced this problem after my graduation; I start training in different places but I could not find the right job because of the limited opportunities and the wrong functional division we have, I am sure that my master degree will allow me to enter the right position and build up a great experience which will take me to the place where I have the capability to change and improve.
After graduation I start training in the cytogenetic and molecular lab at the King Hussein Cancer Center (KHCC), and then in the routine lab at the Arab Medical Center (AMC).
But I had to start working and get a job, so I decided to combine between my educational knowledge and my personality of being social, motivated, ambitious, smart, persistent, confident and specially the ability to convince, so I started working as a Medical Representative for molecular instruments and supplies, while taking a Business Solution courses, to support my skills & the scientific knowledge.
In spite of my success in my job; and the promotion I got within one month and a half as an outdoor sales manager in my region, beside the bright universities that are available in my country to teach business fields which am getting a great chance in this field, I still have my dream to take my chance in your university to continue my education in order to gain applied knowledge and experiences by academic research in your master`s program.
Another reason to complete my education because it will provide me a good chance to reach self independence and to increase my sense of responsibility during the two years studying in your master`s program, As long as I choose to begin the way to build up my future independently without any interference of others. For example; my family has their own private school, so I can start from their; but I will be related to my family all the time in the future, that is why I made my decision to build my own career and struggle all the situations.
In the light of above-mentioned facts, I am hopeful to get admission in **** University. It will bring a diametrical opposite change and ray of hope in my future career in the field of regenerative biology and medicine.
