Motivation letter

I need someone (with good english!) to review quickly and comment my letter of motivation!
Thanks a lot!

Dear committee members,

i was informed about this Graduate Engineering Training scheme by the CERN website, while I was searching for job opportunities abroad, and it really intrigued me. I think, what you provide is a unique opportunity in the world and I really want to be a part of it. Hence, as required, I am writing this letter to you, in order to give you a brief statement of my motivations and qualifications for applying to this fellowship program.

In high school I graduated with mathematics and physics as my majors. I continued with studies in Civil Engineering at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki where I obtained a five-year bachelor's degree, and after that I decided to continue my academic career for a Master's degree at University of Thessaly on Applied Engineering and System Simulation which I will obtain by the end of May 2012. Although a structural engineer, I am attracted to other fields of engineering (fluids and mechanical engineering), so I chose to do this master's program because the program of studies was most specialized in engineering science (dynamics of structures, materials and continuum mechanics). At the present time I am dealing with finite element analysis and composite materials (fiber reinforced concrete) research for my diploma thesis.

During my studies I took part in several solo and team projects and, so far, my professional experience relies mostly on them. I also acquired the ability to assert myself within a team, to work within a group and the ability to collaborate with other people. I hope, during my stay at CERN to have the possibility to meet and work with people from all over the world which is one of the many reasons that I’m attracted to CERN.

CERN is a unique experience and an exciting place for me to be. As a new graduate engineer, I see my short stay at CERN as a huge opportunity to start my career as a civil engineer, gain working experience and with the credits acquired of my work there to be able to find a job in the future.

I am a responsible person and I will try to do my best at CERN. For more information you can find my attached Curriculum Vitae and the letters of recommendation which will arrive through the standard procedure. Please consider my application

Yours faithfully,
