I have to write a motivation letter for the application to the economics and informatics master degree at the Erasmus University Rotterdam.

I could not subscribe to the website for the moment because it seems to have some problems but since it will work I will do it Emotion: smile

Here is my first version of my motivation letter. Feel free to correct me on any point (structure, language, missing point ...)

Thanks a lot in advance Emotion: smile

Dear Sir or Madam,

I am hereby applying for the Master's Degree program in Economics & Informatics with a specialisation in Economics and ICT at the Erasmus University Rotterdam (EUR) in September 2009.

First of all, I will give you some background information on my studies. I graduated a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Sciences in September 2007 from the University of Liège in Belgium and I will graduate a two years Master's Degree in Computer Sciences in June 2009 from the same University. My computer sciences' focuses where on networking and on computer vision. I had the opportunity this year to attend to a Business module within my master program, which was worth of 30 credits, and it was given by the University's Management School. I applied to this module because I already appreciated some economics and management courses in my degrees and I wanted to go deeper in these subjects. Another reason was to enlarge my horizon's career that is having the possibility to evolve inside a society and to switch between different working field instead of being stuck in a position or in a specialized field. I enjoyed this module a lot so it is why I want to go one step further in this field.

Secondly, I will explain my way to choose the Erasmus University Rotterdam. I wanted a master degree taught in English for obvious international reason and because I always enjoyed speaking English. I searched an university in the Netherlands for two reasons: the greatest is the language because as I live in a country where dutch is one of the national languages I think that is normal to learn it. I will be glad to follow dutch courses on top of my master degree. The second reason is the proximity with my girlfriend, my family and my friends. Next I searched for the University that can allow me to develop my skills in economics and management in an international context. The reputation of the Management faculty being not negligible I naturally end my researches on the Erasmus University Rotterdam where the Economics and ICT program fits extremely well with my current studies and with my desire to follow a complete master on economics and management.

Thirdly, I will give you some reasons why I also fit to this program. During my studies I had a lot of project to do and most of them were group work. It helps me to develop strong communication and cooperation skills that are essentials in management. My studies give me a great background in technology that can be a solid base for the learning of technology management. The fact that Computer Science is an exact science gives a very rigorous mind. I am not afraid of taking responsibility since I am the delegate of my class and I have been responsible of different scouting sections during many years. On top of it, I have a very curious mind and I appreciate to do things correctly.

To sum up I am highly motivated to attend to this program because it perfectly matches what I wanted to do after finishing my computer sciences studies. Thank you for considering my application. I would be very pleased to be granted admission for the fall term.

Sincerely yours.

Edited for you -- formatting only, I mean.
I'll leave the grammar to somebody more knowledgeable than me.
