motivation letter

I have write this but I dont know how to finished it, and if it is OK, Can you check it please

The first thing you should know is how I got intrested in studing International Law. Well, I will never forget the day that Luis de la Calle, one of the mexican officials that negociated NAFTA, went to my university to give a Conference about how Mexico negotiated NAFTA and how it has been in further FTA’s negotiations. When I heard him talking I decided I wanted to know what he did and to work in what he worked. When the conference was finished I approached him and I asked him what I had to do to work in what he was working. He answered me that for him, the most important thing was to know about International Law. He explained me that is easier to play when you know the rules. I was really happy with that answer, becuase at that point I had already took a course of International Law at university and I ranked first out of my class. I startesd thinking of making a master in International Law and Economics.

When I finished university and I was working at the Deputy Direction of International Affairs in the Agency for Family Development in Mexico City, I started dealing with other issues realted to International Law such as trafficking, migration, torture, international abduction, international adoption, among others. I started realizing that if trade was important and intresting, there were other issues that were intresting as well. I decided that I should study a master with broader margins of accion. This is why I decided to study a master in International Law with a focus in Public International Law.

The second thing you shuld know is why I want to attend Erasmus Universiteit Rotterdam. I started searching for Masters Programs in International Law focused in Public Internationa Law since I finished school. I found some that I liked, but none of them was perfect. I felt so lucky when I found the program offered by your University, it was exaclty what I was looking for. Your program covers exaclty all the areas Im intrested in: International Dispute Settlement, Economic Law, International Organizations, Public International Law and Human Rights.

The third and last thing you should know is why to choose me for attending your Master Program in Internatioanl Law. I am one on the best students of my class, actually, I ranked third out of twenty seven. This is relevenat not only because of the place I occupied, but also because I studied in one of the best universities in Mexico, Centro de Investigación y Docencia Económicas,CIDE (Research and Teaching Center for Economics). CIDE is a small, high quality institition where only the best students are able to finish, when we started, my generation was about 100 students and we finished less than half.

I am a compromised student,

Hello Hipand, Sorry, your letter managed to slip down the forum a bit, so it has taken us a while to find it again. Hope this is not too late. Drop the '1st thing, 2nd thing, 3rd thing' style, it sounds rather childish.

  • This is just sloppyness as your general English is of a high level.
