Mothers?

Hello teachers, I want to know meaning of this sentence--

Religious guru said -- I used to take blessings of mothers daily while going to school in my childhood.

I have not understood word -mothers. I could not ask this doubt in front of him due to fear. Can you help me ?

The word "mothers" involves a lot of meaning. I try to put it in simple words.

The following people are considered as mothers. They are;

1. Your own mother = Smdl's mother.

2. Wife's mother = Smdl's mot
