Most interesting one/ interesting

Our first trip was (the most interesting /interesting) one, but our second one was even more interesting.
Which is more correct to use or both are ok?

You can't have a superlative (the most interesting) followed by a comparative (more interesting) in your sentence. My suggestion: Our first trip was [very] interesting but our second trip was even more interesting. CB
