Are these correct:

a. I liked Tom's, Pete's and Jeff's guitar playing style. The most interesting was the way John played the guitar.

b. I liked Tom's, Pete's and Jeff's guitar playing style. The way John played the guitar was the most interesting.

c. I like the way John played the piano and the bass. However, the most interesting was the way he played the guitar.

Can the 'the' before 'most' be omitted without a change in meaning?
