Most dependable or least dependable

Hi. Is the phrase "most dependable" a superlative, meaning something it is more dependable than any other occasion when given enough to eat, and the phrase "least dependable" also a superlative, meaning it is less dependable than any other occasion when deprived of more than a meal? I think the example sentences might not be good ones for the question above, but I wish for your help.

It is most dependable when it is given enough things to eat.
It is least dependable when it is deprived of more than a meal.

Yes. There are superlatives of superiority (most) and superlatives of inferiority (least). It is usually unnecessary to say "superlative of superiority" as this is the type that is most usual.
