Morphology Difficulty

Currently I'm struggling to distinguish between blending of words and folk etymology of words. These are the words that are giving me a headache: Phelpsian, Pregorexia, and Frugalista. My initial thoughts for Phelpsian was blend, Pregorexia was blend, and Frugalista folk etymology. But the 'ian' in Phelpsian and the 'rexia' in Pregorexia makes me think they're more than just blends. Phelpsian -> homsapian -> amphibian -> Olympian. What do you guys think?

I've read conflicting analysis which had led me to be confused.

I've been taught that such words as: chocoholic, shopoholic, workoholic are folk etymology of alcholic, however, they look like blends to me.

I would like to put in my two cents' worth. Phelpsian derived from Michael Phelp who won in 2008 Olympic Games eight gold medals. Phelpsian is so far an informal word.

Folk etymology is where part or all of a word is changed into something that is thought to make sense, for instance shamefast - shamefaced, crevise - crayfish. I don't think chocoholic, shopoholic, workoholic are folk etymologies.
