Morose

As he is in morose, he is not willing to talk to anyone.

He looked or got morose as he failed in all exams.

Are these sentences correct? Either I am unsure about "looked or got" in the second sentence.

Your sentences mix registers, containing very common words with one very unusual word, so they seem weird.

Common sentence (everyday English):
He is so sad that he is not willing to talk to anyone.
He is sad and not willing to talk to anyone.

High register sentence: Being morose, he is uncommunicative.
