Morning/mornings

Hello,

I know that both are used but "mornings" suggests repetition. Isn't "in the morning" more common though?

- You should try to get up earlier in the morning/mornings.

- I love drinking coffee in the morning/mornings.

The first sentence might be a little different but both versions of the second mean the same thing to me. What do you think?
