'more' vs 'more and more'

Could you tell me which one is okay in the following sentences? Thank you.

1. More people visit Africa this year.
2. More people visited Africa this year.
3. More people visit Africa than the last year.
4. More and more people visit Africa every year.
5. More and more people visit Africa dispite of its high crime rates, inconvenience caused from undevelopment, and fatal endemic diseases.
