more than/highly successful

Hi, I wonder if the phrase "more than successful" sounds ok for native speaker's ear. The context is: More than successful experiments at the lab yielded good results.
Or would it be better to say Highly successful experiments?

Thank you

"more than successful" sounds a bit odd to me in that sentence. "highly successful" is OK.
