More than two coordinate conjunctions in a sentence

Hi. I think it is correct to use more than two coordinate conjunctions in a sentence, but sometimes I feel there is too much information to digest (also giving the impression in part being cluttered). What do you think?
Thank you for your help in advance.

1. He did his best, and a lot of people helped him wholeheartly, but the result wasn't what they expected.
2. He did his best, and a lot of people helped him wholeheartly, yet the result hasn't reached the least of his expectations.

I have no problem with your two sentences. The second clause seems to be parenthetical, so it does not sound like you are stringing clauses together with conjunctions.
