Hi .. I would like to ask if there is more polite way to say "Here you go", please? I am trying to collect the most polite way of saying this to teach the students to use it in Drama class. I was thinking, how would a person from the 18th century talk with a lady or to a respectful person? What would he say if he wants to pass something to someone who is higher in position maybe or highly respected?
Another question please, I once heard my friend saying that the people no longer are using "Thank you so much" although it is more polite than "Thank you very much". What is the difference please? Thank you

I hear both said, and both are equally polite. But when I hear 'Thank you very much', I think that the speaker's English is
