More polite sentence

Hi,

I heard some young girl said "I will let you know when you need to know." to a lot older people. I wonder if it is polite enough to say to older people.

And I am not quite sure how to make my speech more polite. As far as I know I would make more polite sentences by using the word such as could, would, or please etc. Other than that, is t here any other rules applied to make sentences more polite?

Thank you!

The words themselves are not that rude. It's the idea that someone else decided when or where you need to know something. Who are YOU to decide when it's the right time for me to know something.

She could have said something like "Don't worry - I'll make sure to let you know in plenty of time" ... but plenty of time for what?

It's just an odd
