more or less

I have to insert "more or less" in the following sentence. Where would you put the phrase.

I think we all have had an experience of being unable to find the book we were looking for, but instead being strongly influenced by a book which we happened to find.

Why do you have to add 'more or less'?
I don't feel it enhances the sentence, no matter where you put it.,

Alternatively, you could put it after I or we or all in the first part of the sentence, or after we in the second clause of the sentence.
I think I'd put it after we in the second clause:
I think we all have had an experience of being unable to find the book we were looking for, but instead being strongly influenced b

Yeah, I completely agree that "more or less" doesn't sit well wherever I put it. It's just the original sentence (Japapanese) includes "Ookare sulu skate", meaning "more or less." But it's good to know that "more or less" is absolutely unnecessary from a native speaker's point of view! Thank you guys:)
