Which are correct:

1-They are more journalist than us.

2-They are more journalists than us.

3-They are more of journalists than us.

You can't really make that expression plural.

To say someone is "more of an X than I am" means that the person is a better example of X than you, that he or she does it better.

"Steven is more of a man than you will ever be!" for example, means that Steven is a better person (man) than the person being spoken to.
