More from the world of rugby

Today's pearl by an Australian commentator during the Canada vs. Italy game: "That kick was so ugly it had warts on it." (He was referring to a Canadian player's efforts.)
I don't know when it happened but rugby picked up the term "sin bin" originally a hockey term (but now somewhat scoffed at, I gather).

Now, there's the "blood bin" where players who are actually shedding blood must go to have it staunched before being allowed to continue playing.

Keep your sticks on the ice.
Cheers, Sage

That's odd, thought I. An American playing rugby? But it seems your son the hooker is in good company. Senator Edward Moore Kennedy, President George Walker Bush, (ex-?) President William Jefferson Blythe Clinton IV, and Meat Loaf were all rugby enthusiasts in their youth.

It's not all that uncommon. I knew several rugby players in college. Most of them were women, of course.

Straight question, Coop: why did you say "University of Tampa" rather than "the University of Tampa"? Does it matter?
