More fair/fairer, slower/more slow

He is much fairer than her.
He is more fair than her.
He is very slower than him.
He is more slow than him.

When using pronouns in comparisons, you use the nominative pronouns (I, we, you, he, she, it, they) and not the possesive (my, mine, our, ours, your

But I know often people say "He is taller than him" or "I'm taller than you". They don't say "He is taller than he is" or "I'm taller than you are".

Google too hits lots of results for "He is taller than him".

Could you please help me out with this?

Just because people say something doesn't make it right. It merely means they are ignorant. You have your expert answer above.

My opinion is that you would drop the "is" from the end of all those sentences. E.g., He is fairer than she.
